PolySpeak (“the App”, package name com.koala.translator) is a multilingual translation
application. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the App and how

1. Who we are
The App is provided under the developer name PolySpeak (individual developer). Contact: [email protected].
2. No account
PolySpeak does not require you to create an account. We do not operate a PolySpeak user profile system and we do not sync your translation history to a PolySpeak cloud account.
3. Information we process
- Translation text. When you use online translation, the text you submit (including text obtained from voice recognition or on-device OCR) is sent over HTTPS to a Google translation endpoint to return a translation. We do not operate our own translation servers that store this content for you.
- Offline translation. When online translation is unavailable or fails, the App may process text on your device using Google ML Kit language models. In that path, translation can occur on-device according to ML Kit behavior.
- Local history. Recent translations may be stored locally on your device so you can revisit them. This history is not uploaded to a PolySpeak backend in the current version.
- Microphone. If you use voice or conversation translation, the App accesses the microphone to capture speech for speech-to-text. Audio is used to enable that feature and is not collected by us for advertising.
- Camera / photos. If you use camera translation, the App accesses the camera or a photo you select so text can be recognized (OCR) on the device. Images are not uploaded to PolySpeak servers. Recognized text may then be translated online or offline as described above.
- Device country code. The App may read SIM or network country ISO codes on the device solely to determine regional availability. This check is performed locally and is not sent to a PolySpeak server.
4. Third-party services
- Google translation endpoint. Online translations are requested from Google’s translation service. Google’s processing of requests is subject to Google’s applicable terms and policies.
- Google ML Kit. Offline language identification and translation may use ML Kit / Google Play services components on your device, including optional download of language packs.
- Platform speech recognition. Voice features may rely on Android system speech recognition capabilities.
The current App version does not integrate a third-party advertising SDK. A splash screen may show an ad placeholder UI only. If advertising or analytics SDKs are added later, this Policy will be updated.
5. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
6. Regional availability
PolySpeak may be unavailable in certain regions, including mainland China (CN) and Iran (IR), based on a local device country check. This restriction is enforced in the App and does not involve sending your country code to our servers.
7. Data retention and deletion
Local history remains on your device until you clear it in the App or uninstall the App. Because we do not maintain PolySpeak cloud accounts with your translation history, there is no separate cloud deletion request for that content. For privacy questions, email [email protected].
8. Security
Online translation requests are sent using HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please avoid submitting highly sensitive information for translation when possible.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you acknowledge the revised Policy.
